United Way of Westchester and Putnam Hosts Annual Day of Golf Benefit

James “Jim” O’Connor

United Way of Westchester and Putnam (UWWP) will host their annual Applied Underwriters Invitational & Bud Hammer Memorial Day of Golf benefit on Monday, September 8th at the Scarsdale Golf Club. This signature event serves as a vital fundraiser, helping community members throughout Westchester and Putnam counties access necessities they struggle to afford.

United Way’s Day of Golf will also honor White Plains, NY resident James “Jim” O’Connor, Vice President of Corporate Development at Empress EMS (Yonkers, NY), for his philanthropic commitment and community service.

Jim O’Connor has been involved in EMS for more than four decades, beginning his career in 1976 as one of the first paramedics in Westchester County, New York. In his various leadership roles, Jim has worked to expand ambulance services across New York City, Westchester County, the Hudson Valley, Philadelphia and its suburbs, Wilmington, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh. Jim has been active with many EMS organizations throughout his career, holding board positions locally, regionally and nationally, working tirelessly for EMTs and paramedics while fostering quality patient care and solid partnerships with healthcare and municipal leaders. Jim O’Connor bridges the gap between healthcare and community needs, ensuring vital services reach those who need them most.

United Way’s Applied Underwriters Invitational & Bud Hammer Memorial Day of Golf benefit features a round of golf, on-course competitions and prizes, BBQ lunch, cocktail reception, dinner and silent auction. Limited foursomes are available for community members passionate about making a difference in Westchester and Putnam counties, providing the perfect environment for meaningful conversations between holes and valuable networking opportunities.

In addition to the incredible support of Title Sponsor, Applied Underwriters, this year’s Day of Golf is generously sponsored by: Apple Bank; Atlantic Westchester; AVE Hamilton Green; Bankwell; Belway Electrical Contracting; Borg & Bryks LLP; CCLean Commercial Cleaning; Customers Bank; Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts; Empress EMS; Foundation in Support of Educational Excellence; Levitt-Fuirst Associates, Ltd.; J.
