Two Yorktown Men Charged With Felony Assault of 74 year old Woman: Yorktown Woman Charged With Assault for Stabbing Spouse

According to the BHW Law Firm, (www.bhwlawfirm.com), assault and family violence is the #2 cause of arrests made over the holiday season

The recent Christmas holidays brought two incidents of violence in the Town of Yorktown, according to the Yorktown Police Department. On Dec. 23, at about 12:12 pm, Yorktown Police Officers were dispatched to a report of an assault in progress at a Yorktown residence.  Officers responded to the residence and initiated an investigation.  Upon the officers’ arrival, the defendants had already left the scene. Police interviewed the victims, one of whom was able to identify the defendants.

The investigation continued and it is alleged the defendants, while acting in concert with each other, punched, kicked and choked one victim, causing physical injuries. During the alleged assault, physical injury was caused to a 74-year-old victim after she was allegedly shoved to the ground by the defendants. In addition, the entire incident allegedly occurred in the presence of a 7-year-old child. EMS was called to the scene for one of the victims, who was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment.

Yorktown Police report the arrest of 32 year old Yorktown man and a 19 year old Yorktown man, who are charged with Assault 2nd Degree, a Class “D” Felony, Assault 3rd Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.

On December 27, 2022 at about 6:00 pm, the defendants voluntarily surrendered themselves at Yorktown Police Headquarters. Both were arrested and processed on the above charges, then arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Gary Raniolo, who issued a Temporary Order of Protection in favor of the victims and ordered both held on bail-which they were unable to post. The defendants were turned over to Westchester County Corrections and brought to the Westchester County Jail.  The defendants are due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on January 3, 2023 at 6:00 pm.

In another incident, on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) at approximately 3:10 am, Yorktown Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence.  Upon arrival, they met with the victim who was bleeding from the back of the neck.

After an investigation on scene, it was determined that while arguing with the defendant, the defendant allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim on the back of the neck.  The defendant also allegedly kicked a bathroom door causing damage to the door frame.  The defendant, who was still on scene, was placed under arrest by P.O Rana and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing.

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 43-year-old Yorktown woman, who is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, a Class “D” Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.

Following processing on the above charges, the defendant was arraigned by the Honorable Gary Raniolo, who issued an Order of Protection on behalf of the victim.  The defendant was released on her own recognizance and is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on January 17, 2023 at 6:00 pm.
