Toys for Tots Westchester Gives 30,000 Kids a Toy for Christmas… With Your Help

By Dan Murphy

Every year around this time, we highlight and encourage our readers to consider donating to Toys for Tots Westchester. The reason is simple: coordinators for Toys for Tots Westchester,  Steve and Kelly Topilnycky do a remarkable job in getting the most out of your donations.

Steve writes, “The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Westchester County is again reaching out to our valued community for support. Last year, we successfully assisted 29,365 children in Westchester County by distributing 43,961 gifts. However, this year, we anticipate an increased need to provide gifts to nearly 38,375 children, and we cannot achieve this goal without your help.

“We invite you to join us in spreading the joy of Christmas to children in need as the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program calls upon your generous spirit; as a highly esteemed, nationally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit charity, we are dedicated to significantly impacting the lives of the less fortunate during this festive season. Your support is crucial in helping us fulfill our mission, and together, we can ensure that every child experiences the magic of the holidays. Let’s unite our efforts and create lasting memories for those who need it most!

Former County Legislator and US Marine Jim Maisano annually holds an event to collect toys and raise awareness for Toys for Tots. This year, Maisano will hold his event on December 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Beechmont Tavern, 750 North Avenue, New Rochelle.

A simple Facebook search on Toys for Tots Westchester will show how many local organizations partner with Steve and Kelly and why we like to give what we can to them every year. They can be trusted to put your donations into the hands of someone who needs a little Christmas joy.
