Taryn Duffy to Depart Empire City Casino After 14 Years to Launch Consulting Firm

Taryn Duffy

After 14 years at Empire City Casino, including six years under MGM Resorts following its acquisition of the Westchester VLT casino, Taryn Duffy is departing her role as Vice President of Public Affairs for MGM’s Northeast Group. A recognized leader in public policy, communications, coalition building, and corporate social responsibility, Duffy has launched her own consulting firm, Tarsam Public Affairs.

Duffy’s tenure has been marked by her ability to unite stakeholders, from community leaders to unions and businesses, in support of Empire City’s pursuit of a full commercial casino license. Her strategic brand and reputation management efforts have helped position Empire City as a leading contender in the highly competitive licensing process.

With more than three decades of experience spanning the legal, government, and corporate sectors, Duffy has served as Chair of the New York Gaming Association and holds leadership roles on multiple boards. Her expertise in lobbying, PR, and corporate social responsibility continues to influence policy and business objectives, making her next chapter one to watch.
