Enjoy live music, costumes, hayrides, Halloween fun and more on October 17 and 18
Get ready for a weekend filled with autumn magic, Halloween thrills and plenty of family fun as the Spooktacular Oktoberfest comes to Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary in Rye on Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18. Tickets are on sale now.
This festive fall celebration will have something for everyone, including live music, Halloween crafts, a haunted house, bounce house, pumpkin painting, s’mores, hayrides, and trick-or-treating. Guests can also enjoy food and beverage vendors, live animals from The Nature Company and much more.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “The Spooktacular Oktoberfest is the kind of fall weekend that brings families together. From costumes and trick-or-treating, to hayrides, pumpkins, music and a haunted house, there’s something around every corner to keep kids entertained and give parents a chance to enjoy the season, too. We’re excited to welcome families to Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary for a celebration that combines the fun of Halloween with the beauty of Westchester’s great outdoors.”
Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Acting Commissioner William Bland said: “Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary is a spectacular place to experience fall, and the Spooktacular Oktoberfest gives visitors even more reasons to explore it. With miles of trails, beautiful views of Long Island Sound and a full lineup of activities, this event turns a day at the Sanctuary into a true fall adventure.”
Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite costumes and explore the Sanctuary’s beautiful trails while enjoying the crisp fall air and spectacular views along Long Island Sound. The weekend’s entertainment lineup will include live music from The Saddle Ridge Ramblers and singer/songwriter Mani Cregan, adding a festive soundtrack to the celebration.
Admission is $25 per person, and children ages three and under are free. Event is from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day. Parking for the event is located in Playland’s parking lot. Rain or shine.
Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary is located at 1 Playland Parkway in Rye, NY, past the amusement park.
