Monday night puts two games on Yonkers screens at once. The Yankees try to even their division series in Tampa after Drew Rasmussen took a no hitter into the eighth inning on Saturday, and Jonathan Aranda’s home run held up for a 1 to 0 Rays win. Cam Schlittler, the presumptive American League Cy Young winner with a 1.95 regular season ERA, faces Freddy Peralta with first pitch just after 8 p.m., and the Falcons and Saints kick off on Monday Night Football at 8:15. The series comes to the Bronx on Wednesday, and by Friday Yankee fever reaches the weekend grocery run, when Mariano Rivera stops by Stew Leonard’s in Yonkers from 2 to 4 p.m. to show off his new hot sauce line.
Weeks like this send a lot of people to a search bar, typing some version of the same question. Does FanDuel need a code? Right now, no. RotoWire’s page tracking the FanDuel promo code lists the code field as simply “BET NOW,” which means the welcome offer switches on when a new customer signs up through a link and deposits at least $5. There is nothing to hunt for. The better question is whether the offer fits the week you actually plan to have.
How the Offer Works
FanDuel’s current deal for new customers in New York pays up to $250 in bonus bets, but not all at once. You place a $5 bet and get $50 in bonus bets. To collect the full amount you have to repeat that $5 bet on each of five straight days, and each bet has to go in between 3 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. Eastern. Miss a day and that day’s $50 is gone.
The terms are fairly loose otherwise. There is no minimum odds requirement, and parlays and live bets both count. The bonus bets can also be split across several wagers. They do expire seven days after they land, so credits earned on Monday need to be used by the following Monday. You must be 21 or older and physically inside New York State when you register.
Does This Week’s Schedule Fit?
Here is where a Yankee fan should slow down. Monday has Game 2 and the Falcons. Tuesday is a travel day with no Yankee game at all. Game 3 is Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium, Game 4 would be Thursday if needed, and a Game 5 would be Saturday back at Tropicana Field. The Buccaneers visit the Cowboys on Thursday night, and Sunday brings a first place Giants team, 3 and 1 after Deonte Banks returned an interception 98 yards to finish off Arizona, into Washington.
Count the days and you’ll see the catch. Somebody who only wants to put $5 on the Yankees runs out of Yankee games by day two. To collect all five payouts you have to bet on Tuesday anyway, on a game you probably weren’t going to watch. That isn’t an accident. A five day ladder is built to make betting a daily habit, and the $250 headline is the price FanDuel pays to build it. If you’re fine with that, the math is generous: $25 in total stakes for up to $250 in credits. If you’re not, sign up on a day when you know five straight days of sports will actually hold your interest.
Yonkers Still Bets on Its Phone
Yonkers came close to a very different betting landscape. MGM spent years pitching a full commercial casino at Empire City, then pulled its state license application on Oct. 14, 2025, citing changed terms, which took Yonkers out of the race for the downstate licenses. Yonkers Raceway and its video gaming floor are still open, but for most local sports fans the sportsbook is the app on their phone.
That market is large and it is cooling. State figures for August show New York’s mobile handle at $1.73 billion, down 15.3 percent from a year earlier. FanDuel took in $599.6 million in wagers that month and kept $64 million in gross revenue, the most of any operator, on a hold of 10.7 percent. New York taxes mobile sports betting at 51 percent, one of the steepest rates in the country, which helps explain why operators push welcome deals so hard during the biggest weeks of the year. A Yankees October is about as big as New York sports weeks get.
If You Sign Up This Week
Set a budget before Game 2 starts and decide in advance which five days you’ll use. Treat the bonus bets as a perk with an expiry date, not money you’re owed, because they disappear after a week. Don’t chase a Yankee loss on Tuesday’s slate just to keep the streak alive. And if you want a hard stop, the deposit limits in FanDuel’s responsible gaming settings take about a minute to set.
Help is a phone call away. New York’s HOPEline is 877.8.HOPENY, or text HOPENY (467369), and it is free and confidential around the clock. And if the Bombers do even this series tonight, the best seat in town on Wednesday will still be the one in front of your own TV, no promotion required.
