This week, Frank Jereis was named Executive Director of the Yonkers Democratic Party. Jereis, 23, and a rising star in Westchester politics, was appointed to the position by Yonkers Democratic Chair Tom Meier.

In 2020, Frank Jereis was elected the Democratic 2nd Ward leader, after a contentious race, which made him one of the youngest Ward leaders elected in Yonkers history. Frank has been involved in many political campaigns in Westchester, including some historic contests.

Specifically, he has served as the campaign manager for a majority of the City Council, and has been at the forefront of campaigns that elected diversity to the Yonkers City Council, the Yonkers City Court and Yonkers’ state delegation.

After January 6, 2021, Frank saw the importance of courts and state institutions in protecting election integrity and democracy. He graduated early for his undergraduate degree and headed to New York Law School on a full merit scholarship. Currently, while he is nearing graduation, Frank serves as the Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Nader Sayegh, and previously worked at the Yonkers Commission of Human Rights.

Yonkers Democratic Chair Tom Meier said, “The Executive Director helps take care of the party business and makes sure that we have the literature and the petitions ready. It is an important position.

“Frank is a hard worker; he has earned his stripes. He has been a Ward leader, and he knows the political game. He has a lot of knowledge about our political system because he has done the work.

“He knows what needs to be done and when it needs to be done and knows all the players so he can communicate with elected officials, ward leaders and our army of Yonkers democrats on the street. I don’t have to tell him what to do, He knows how to get it done,” said Meier.

“No one works harder for the Democratic Party than Frankie. He eats, sleeps, and breathes politics. He is a relentless worker for the Yonkers Democratic Party, and its candidates. There is no doubt in my mind that he is a rising star with a bright future,” said Yonkers City Clerk Vinny Spano.

“Frankie served as my campaign manager and was instrumental in my victory,” said First District Councilwoman Deana Robinson. ”He is a smart person that really cares about our communities and knows the issues that our communities face. I am confident that Frankie will serve our Party well in this new role and the sky will be the limit for him.”

Yonkers City Council Majority Leader John Rubbo said, “I have known Frankie for years and he is exactly the type of person we need ti help lead our party.”
