Statement from the Mayor of Irvington, the Board of Trustees and the Chief of Police

“The Village of Irvington is aware of the anti-Black, antisemitic and racist graffiti discovered at Halsey Pond. The Irvington Police Department is actively investigating this incident.

There is no place in our community for antisemitism, racism, hate, or any act that seeks to divide us. Irvington stands firmly against all forms of hatred and discrimination. We are a community built on respect, inclusion, and mutual understanding, and we will not allow acts of hate to define who we are.

We encourage anyone with information related to this incident to contact the Irvington Police Department at 914.591.8080.”

Photos of the graffiti have not been made public or posted on Facebook. We believe that the publication of this type of hate is important and should not be hidden from the public eye.

The photo above shows some of the old, castle like structures at the pond. If we had to guess, that is where the graffiti was left.

A Facebook page named goloveny, called Halsey Pond “Westchester’s Secret Paradise.”

Halsey Pond Park is one of Irvington’s best hidden gems, with quiet trails, water views, and the historic teahouse tucked into the trees.

A peaceful spot for a short walk, fresh air, and quiet views.

In March of 2026, antisemitic graffiti was found at the MTA station in Irvington, and the MTA police have yet to make any arrests. We wonder if the two incidents are releated.
