Ossining Man Arrested Following Domestic Incident in Town of Somers

On August 15, 2026, the New York State Police in Somers were notified by the White Plains Police Department of a previously occurred domestic incident in the area of the Muscoot Reservoir, near State Route 100 and Muscoot Lane, in the Town of Somers.

The preliminary investigation determined that the victim had previously been involved in a romantic relationship with Freddy Orlando Guamani Orbes, 40, of Ossining, New York.

An investigation conducted by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Somers determined that Guamani Orbes arrived at the victim’s workplace and demanded that the victim enter his vehicle. Guamani Orbes then transported the victim to a secluded wooded area near the Muscoot Reservoir in the Town of Somers.

While at that location, Guamani Orbes assaulted the victim and restricted the victim’s breathing by applying pressure to the victim’s neck. He further threatened to kill the victim and prevented the victim from leaving the area. The victim was ultimately able to escape and flag down a passing motorist for assistance.

On August 16, 2026, Guamani Orbes was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:
Robbery in the Third Degree, a Class D felony

Unlawful Imprisonment in the First Degree, a Class E felony
Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, a Class E felony
Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a Class E felony
Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation — Applying Pressure, a Class A misdemeanor
Attempted Assault in the Third Degree — Intent to Cause Physical Injury, a Class A misdemeanor
Menacing in the Third Degree, a Class B misdemeanor

Guamani Orbes was arraigned in the Town of Somers Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear again in Somers Town Court on August 24, 2026.
