Mother of Hunter’s Child Hands Over His Financial Records to Feds and NY Times
By Dan Murphy
It took almost two years, but the New York Times story from March 16 about Hunter Biden, and a Federal tax investigation into the millions of dollars he earned around the world, confirms the authenticity of a laptop he left behind at a Deleware computer repair shop.
Three of the NYTimes top reporters collaborated on the story, which reports that federal investigators are looking into President Joe Biden’s son for not paying taxes on overseas income, but also if he improperly used his relation to his father, who was vice-president at the time of most of Hunter’s income, for personal gain without registering as a foreign agent.
The paragraph in the Times story that most in the media are referencing is, “People familiar with the investigation said prosecutors had examined emails between Mr. Biden, Mr. Archer and others about Burisma and other foreign business activity. Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.”
This paragraph belies the claims made by many in the intelligence communities that the laptop was a form of Russian attempts to help the re-election of former President Donald Trump in 2020. The Times story also states that “Investigators have examined Mr. Biden’s relationships with interests in Kazakhstan, a Chinese energy conglomerate and Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company, according to people familiar with the investigation”
The Justice Department grand jury investigation into Hunter Biden is being conducted in Deleware by U.S. Attorney David Weiss, whose office has also subpoenad financial records from the mother’s of Hunter Biden’s son, Lunden Alexis Roberts, who filed a paternity-support suit in Arkansas, which was settled in 2020. But before the settlement, Roberts attorneys were able to obtain Hunter’s financial records and income statements, which are now in the hands of US Attorney Weiss.
Many in the conservative media are speculating why the NYTimes decided to run this story now. Some believe that it is because Hunter Biden might be indicted as a result of the federal probe. Others speculate that the story was an attempt to begin to “get some of the bad news out early,” but also to leak the fact that Hunter Biden has already paid $1 Million in back taxes that he owed.
This reporter doesn’t care why the Times wrote the story, but, as the newspaper of record in this country, this story validates the authenticity of the laptop, and all of the sad personal details that many of us have seen.
