New Hudson River Museum Program Caters to Adults

YONKERS, NY — Hudson River Museum is launching a unique evening series celebrating art, science and music. HRM After Dark is geared toward 21- to 39-year-olds with a dance party featuring DJ NessDigital, craft beer, light hors-d’oeuvres, cosmic travel with shows in the planetarium, maverick gallery tours and more. Tickets are $35 for HRM members or $40 for non-members and includes two drinks. All guests must be 21 and older; valid ID required for entry.

For tickets and other information, visit hrm.org/afterdark, or follow #HRMAfterDark on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

“The Hudson River Museum embraces diverse voices and artistic and scientific discovery,” said Director Masha Turchinsky. “We’re thrilled to launch #HRMAfterDark, a new series that is as fresh, creative, and social as this dynamic generation of culture seekers we’re seeing in the community.”

The inaugural event was held in January, and additional events will be held in April and October. The series is sponsored by Simone Development Companies and Westchester Magazine.

HRM After Dark is presented by the HRM Contemporaries Council, a dynamic new group of dedicated young professionals who champion diverse perspectives to enrich the collective experience at HRM. The members hail from throughout Westchester and New York City, and bring new ideas from a range of industries including art, architecture, education, film, marketing, food and wine, publishing, and real estate.

“For so long, we felt as if we needed to go to New York City for these kind of social experiences,” said Katherine Han, a member of the newly-formed council, who is involved in the local cultural community. “That’s all changing in Yonkers and throughout Westchester. We’ve got creative critical mass now and we’re excited to see that the HRM champions us as part of a new wave.”

Proceeds from #HRMAfterDark will support educational programs and exhibitions at the museum. Visit hrm.org for more info.
