Lawler Seen Standing with extreme MAGA Trump Ally Elise Stefanik During Her Speech
Yesterday, Mike Lawler stood on the convention floor in Milwaukee to celebrate former President Donald Trump’s acquisition of enough Republican delegates to secure the Republican nomination for president.
CNN showed Lawler standing among his extreme MAGA colleagues from the New York Congressional delegation – directly beside New York Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik – to cast their votes for the twice-impeached, criminally convicted former president, clapping and chanting his name.
Mike Lawler has affirmed his support for the twice-impeached, criminally convicted former president multiple times. He was a convention delegate for Donald Trump in 2016, got paid to re-elect him in 2020, and is now supporting him for the third consecutive presidential election cycle in 2024.
“This is all very gross. Mike Lawler masquerades as a moderate on television, but in reality he votes and enthusiastically supports Donald Trump like an extreme MAGA Republican. Donald Trump is responsible for the overturning of Roe v. Wade, wants to raise prescription drug costs for seniors, and is an enemy to democracy itself,” said Mondaire Jones. “Meanwhile, Lawler’s support for vice presidential candidate JD Vance is no less extreme. Vance supports a national abortion ban and argued against a woman’s right to have an abortion in cases of rape and incest. Ultimately, Mike Lawler has chosen to align himself with Project 2025, a clear plan to deprive women and the LGBTQ+ community of their freedoms, further rig our economy to favor the super rich, and turn our democracy into a dictatorship. Lawler must be defeated.”
