Mayor Mike Spano and Yonkers IDA  Present “Breakthrough Scholarships”

 

IDA Scholarship recipients with Mayor Mike Spano, YPS Superintendent Dr. Edwin Quezada, and city officials

On June 26, Mayor Mike Spano and the Yonkers Industrial Development Agency held its 17th Annual Scholarship Ceremony to present 10 high school seniors from seven high schools with scholarships as part of the Parkledge Apartments “Breakthrough Scholarship” Award.  Each recipient received a one-time $2,500 college scholarship.

Congratulations to all of the students: Darlyn Asencio – Roosevelt High School, Briana Camacho – Palisades Prep, J’Shawna Edwards – Lincoln High School, Jaiydah Jones – Palisades Prep, Abril Martinez – Riverside High School, Edna Mills – Gorton High School, Yemisia Oyelakin – Yonkers Montessori Academy, Michael Perez – Roosevelt High School, Derick Plaza – Sacred Heart High School ,Irisneida Villa-Sanchez – Roosevelt High School
