Second Man Gets Away, His Photo Above

From the New York State Bridge Authority: Thanks to the work of our security staff both on the ground and in the Command Center, the New York State Bridge Authority was made aware of two individuals who were trespassing and climbing one of the Mid-Hudson Bridge’s suspension cables on the morning of May 8, 2026, apparently in an attempt to take photographs.

One individual was arrested by a Town of Lloyd Police officer and charged with Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree, while the other fled on foot in the direction of Oakes Road.

This type of behavior is reckless and illegal, and there are consequences to these actions. We encourage anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Town of Lloyd Police Department.

The Town of Lloyd Police statement announced the arrest of BRIAN ALAYO, 24, or Newburgh, for Criminal Trespass 3rd degree after he was found climbing on the Mid-Hudson Bridge Structure. He was released on an appearance ticket and due in the Town of Lloyd Court May 28, 2026.
