Letters to the Editor: Feb. 2 Westchester Rising

Letter to the Editor:
Dear Yonkers Times,

I’m a person of faith who feels called to care for people and steward the earth. There is a critical story shaping up in Albany I hope you will cover.

The climate emergency is a threat to all New Yorkers. Millions of New Yorkers are also paying too much for energy. Outdated Public Service Law prevents us from transitioning from polluting, expensive fossil fuels to efficient clean heating technologies.

The New York HEAT Act would align our Public Service Law with our climate law while protecting consumers.

With the Senate supporting the whole bill and the Governor supporting some of the key provisions, all eyes are on the Assembly. The Speaker and key committee Chairs could play a decisive role in determining whether the bill is included in the Assembly’s one-house budget proposal and how serious the Assembly is about implementing the state’s climate law.

Please cover this critical climate and energy affordability bill.

Sincerely,
Judith Zingher, Elmsford

Letter to the Editor: 3.5 million views on Tik Tok Re-Lakeland School District’s “Personality Quiz”
To the Editor:

I read with interest your story on Jan. 18, about a disturbing personality test given to middle school students in the Lakeland School District. So far, I have not read any additional comments from the district, nor have I read any additional complaints from parents or students.

I was able to find out that on the Twitter-X page for Tik-Tok 3.5 Million viewers have taken a look at this story. Looking forward to more coming,

thanks Lori Einsel, Cortland Manor
