Letter: North Westchester vs Southern Westchester: Two Views on ICE

To the Editor:

Mr. Murphy, I was interested to read two different stories from you about the actions taken by Westchester residents regarding ICE.

In your Yonkers paper, you highlighted how the City of Yonkers, and its large Latino population, is opposed to ICE in their neighborhoods.

In your Westchester paper, you highlighted the Gorman family in Yorktown, and a number of republican candidates supporting ICE.

I appreciated you writing both sides of the argument; that is certainly the case here in Westchester.

And both arguments have merit.

I also support the comments of Assemblymember Dana Levenberg, who has said on more than one occasion that most residents support the apprehension of those illegals who have committed serious crimes, but do not support removing persons who have lived productive lives in our country
