Latimer Applaudes 25 Westchester Regeneron Science Scholars

25 Westchester Students Among 300 Selected

Westchester County Executive George Latimer extends his congratulations to 25 students in Westchester County who are among 300 scholars in the 2022 Regeneron Science Talent Search.

Latimer said: “This prestigious competition gives our nation’s students a chance to present original work and be celebrated for their discoveries and research. We know Westchester County has bright and talented young scientists, who have each generated some amazing projects. We look forward to seeing what these young students will offer as future leaders in their field.”

Research projects range in topics from tracking countries’ progress on Sustainable Development Goals to the impact of states’ individual COVID-19 responses, and improving the tools used to diagnose Alzheimer’s to analyzing the effects of virtual learning on education.

On January 20, 40 of the 300 scholars will be named Regeneron Science Talent Search finalists. The finalists will then compete for more than $1.8 million in awards during a week-long competition taking place March 10-16.
