Votes to Be Counted in Bronxville and East Yonkers
By Dan Murphy
In the race for Westchester County Legislator in District 15-Eastchester and East Yonkers, democrat Kisha Skipper is leading republican Legislator James Nolan 55.5%-44.5%, with Skipper in the lead by 999 votes. There are still between 10,000 and 12,000 ballots yet to be counted.
Republicans we spoke to told us that the votes that still need to be counted are in East Yonkers and Bronxville, where Nolan may be able to make up the difference.
But Yonkers Democratic Party Chair Tom Meier told us, “I think this race is over. Democrats, Independents and some Republicans came out and said no to Donald Trump. Jim Nolan is a serious republican but he is also a Trump supporter and fan. The voters said they don’t want that in this district, in Westchester, and across the country. The general trend in this race is for Kisha and I see no indication that the remaining votes to be counted will change that.”
