Irvington Theater to Host Sports Trivia -June 12

On June 12, Irvington Theater hosts Sports Trivia, in partnership with Chuck Sports, an Irvington-based startup

On June 12, Irvington Theater welcomes sports fans to throw their hat in the ring for a sports-themed trivia event (in partnership with Chuck Sports, founded by Irvington’s David Arnett).

Chuck Sports is a mobile app that combines curated sports content with private social networking and a suite of sports trivia and picks-based games.

For the June 12 sports trivia event, attendees will compete in teams of one to four players, and the highest-scoring teams will advance to the Final Four competition for real prizes. A “Rookie Prize” will be awarded to the highest-scoring team whose players are 18 years old or younger.

Prizes were donated by the Francie Malina Team, a local real estate firm, which is sponsoring the event.

“We are excited to launch a trivia series at Irvington Theater,” says Shana Liebman, co-chair of the Irvington Theater Commission. “And this is a perfect theme for our first event. Irvington is a sporty town, and we welcome all sports enthusiasts, young and old, to join in the fun and walk away with great prizes.”

“Chuck was built around the idea that sports are better together. Sports connect fans across generations and are the glue in millions of friendships,” said David Arnett, Co-Founder & CEO of Chuck, and an Irvington parent. “I can’t think of a better way to exemplify that than by bringing sports fans of all ages together in our own local community for a night of good-natured competition around our shared nostalgia for and love of sports.”

This event takes place on Thursday, June 12 at 7pm. Tickets are $15 and on sale now at www.irvingtontheater.com/events/sportstrivia

Irvington Theater is home to a diverse range of innovative programming that entertains, enlightens, and inspires, establishing itself over its 123-year history as the cultural heart of the Rivertowns.
