“He stole our sense of security”- Repeat Offender Gets 20 Years for Ossining Home Invasion Burglary

Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced that Lorenzo Chambers, 35, of the Bronx, was sentenced to 20 years to life in state prison by Judge Robert Prisco.

In March, Chambers was convicted at trial of Burglary in the Second Degree, a class C felony, and a related misdemeanor for committing a home-invasion burglary in February 2025.

DA Cacace said: “Crimes of this nature have profound, long-lasting effects on the victims. Sadly, the impact of incidents like these will be felt long after the jail cell doors are closed on the defendant. This severe sentence sends a strong message to our community that this type of criminal behavior will not be tolerated.”

On Feb. 12, 2025, the defendant broke into a home on S. Highland Ave., in Ossining, while the homeowners were present. He stole a silver necklace, silver bracelet, sunglasses, a snap-on socket and a jar full of coins.

After fleeing the premises, he was apprehended by members of the Ossining Police Department while en route to the nearby Metro-North train station.

In a victim’s impact statement, which was read in court by Assistant District Attorney Marissa Morra-Wynn, the homeowner stated the following: “The fact that someone broke into our personal space—a place we had always considered safe—has created a constant sense of fear and insecurity. Since that day, we no longer feel at peace in our own home. Everyday activities such as sleeping, being alone, or simply hearing a noise have become sources of anxiety.”

The investigation was conducted by the Ossining Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Marissa Morra-Wynn and Victoria Clarkson.
