The Harrison Police Department announces the arrests of Jose Hernandez-Done, 36, of Yonkers, NY and Mercedes Yudelka Morgan, 40, of Hackensack, NJ, in connection with a series of alleged grand larcenies and burglaries that occurred in the Town of Harrison during the late evening hours of August 13, 2026, and September 5, 2026
On August 13 into August 14, 2026, investigators allege that Hernandez-Done and Morgan traveled from New York City to Purchase, New York, where they forced entry into multiple storage containers at a construction site. Investigators allege that several thousand dollars’ worth of tools were stolen from the storage containers and from a building under construction on the property.
Following the initial incident, Harrison Police Department investigators began an
investigation in coordination with the Greenburgh Task Force.
On September 5, 2026, Hernandez-Done and Morgan allegedly returned to the Town of Harrison and entered two homes under construction, where they allegedly attempted to steal tools from within the properties. With assistance from the Greenburgh Task Force, Westchester County Real Time Crime Center and Greenwich CT, Police Department, both Hernandez-Done and Morgan were subsequently arrested.
Hernandez-Done and Morgan were each charged in connection with the August 13, 2026
incident with two counts of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and one count of Burglary in the Third Degree. Both were additionally charged with two counts of Burglary in the Third Degree in connection with the September 5, 2026 incidents. All charges are felony offenses under New York State law. Hernandez-Done and Morgan were arraigned on September 6, 2026, and released on their own recognizance. They are scheduled to return to court on September 8, 2026
