Happy Birthday, Uncle O’Grimacey, and Have a Shamrock Shake at McDonald’s

Uncle O’Grimacey is Grimace’s jovial and generous uncle who spreads cheer wherever he goes. While the rest of the Grimace family lives in McDonaldland, Uncle O’Grimacey resides on a small island of the coast of Ireland called Sham Rock.

Back home in Sham Rock, Uncle O’Grimacey spends his time going on nature walks, bowling in his local league, and attending the Sham Rock Street Fair and Music Festival (he plays the Bagpipe!). On Sundays, you’ll find him in the park drawing caricature portraits, donating all the proceeds to his favorite charity, RMHC.

Uncle O’Grimacey’s generous spirit and dedication to giving back make him a beloved figure in his community.

The Grimace Family are tight knit. They always make it a point to gather for family reunions whenever Uncle O’Grimacey makes his way over from Sham Rock.

This year, all the McDonaldland friends are excited to welcome Uncle O’Grimacey to McDonaldland to kick off the St. Patrick’s Day season, deliver the Shamrock Shake, and spread festive cheer!

The iconic Shamrock Shake is officially back at McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, including in Westchester and across the New York Metro region for a limited time, and this Shamrock Season is extra special. McDonald’s is reuniting two beloved members of the McDonald’s family for the first time in decades to commemorate the next chapter of the Gift to RMHC® celebration. This Shamrock Season, everyone’s favorite purple bestie, Grimace, recently discovered his family’s original Shamrock Shake recipe, sparking a reunion with his uncle, Uncle O’Grimacey. Uncle O’Grimacey will be touring the country with shakes in hand, championing support for RMHC families.

Here are some of the ways fans can join in on the fun:

  • For every Shamrock Shake purchased at participating restaurants from Feb. 10 to Mar. 23, McDonald’s will donate $0.25 cents to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
  • Limited-edition Uncle O’Grimacey merch is available for pre-sale beginning on Feb. 4 at goldenarchesunlimited.com.
  • Help support a charity near and dear to Uncle O’Grimacey and Grimace by giving a gift to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Hudson Valley
