Obituary-Kathy Ann Porrazzo

Kathy Ann (Skirka) Porrazzo, age 70 of Trumbull, Connecticut passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at her home. Born in Yonkers, NY, on July 15, 1954, Kathy was the daughter of the late John and Susan (Prokopovic) Skirka.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Robert “Bob” J. Porrazzo, and their three children, Ashley Munson (m. David) of Francestown, NH, Melissa Taylor (m. Jeffrey) of Boston, MA, and John Porrazzo (m. Marissa) of Southbury, CT, and her sisters, Elaine Skirka and Rosemary Senenko as well as several nieces and nephews and dear friends. As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend, Kathy was beloved.

Kathy had worked as a special education teacher in Yonkers for many years before her retirement in 2010. Over her tenure she made an impact on so many individuals and built lasting friendships that turned into family.

Kathy and Bob built their lives in Trumbull and in their retirement, they enjoyed dinners at their go-to establishments and a frequent trip to “the Sun.”

Kathy led her family with a sense of belonging, one that she sustained even as Ashley, Melissa, and John have built careers and families of their own. Kathy’s three children were her world. She connected with them almost daily, playing Wordle with John or sending interesting tidbits you didn’t think you needed to know to her twin daughters. Kathy was constantly there to support her children, always making time for those she loved and loved her in return.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John  Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may greet the family on Thursday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. For online condolences, please visit us at www.abriola.com.
