Yonkers City Councilman Mike Breen issued the following statement following the sudden loss of his son Patrick, who passed away at the age of 41 from Cancer.
“My family is deeply heartbroken to share that our beloved son, Patrick Breen, has passed away. Patrick brought immense joy and love into the lives of everyone who knew him, and he will be profoundly missed by Patty, the rest of our family, and me.
“Being Patrick’s father has been the greatest honor of my life and I cherished every moment of it. Patrick was a devoted son, a wonderful brother, and a caring uncle. He was engaged to Melissa, and their love was a beautiful light in his life.
“Patrick was a Sergeant in the Yonkers Police Department, where he took great pride in serving his community. He loved the camaraderie of the police department, forming lifelong friendships and a deep sense of kinship with his fellow officers.
“While our hearts are heavy with grief, we take solace in knowing that Patrick is at peace and watching over us from heaven. His memory will remain with us forever, and his love will continue to guide us.
“We invite family and friends to celebrate Patrick’s life at the wake, which will be held on Thursday, December 19th, from 3p.m. to 8 p.m. at McGrath’s Funeral Home in Bronxville. The funeral service will take place on Friday, December 20th, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Bronxville.
“We thank you for your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time,” said Councilman Breen.
Our condolences to Mike, Patty and the entire Breen family.
