Girl Scouts Thank Phelps Hospital Workers

Girl Scout Troop 1542 of Dobbs Ferry, and students from the Westchester Day School in Mamaroneck, created thank you cards to the healthcare heroes at Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow.  Pictured above is Phelps’ interim Executive Director, Eileen Egan, standing infront of a wall full of cards, which were appreciated, as is all of the thankyou’s that Westchester is giving all of its medical workers throughout the county helping us stay healthy or fight the Coronavirus.

Eileen Egan, RN, Esq., Interim Executive Director of Phelps Hospital Northwell Health, shows off some of the cards and letters sent by local children to thank hospital staff. Messages were written in Spanish and French, as well as English.

•      A boy named Jacob wrote: “All I want is for this madness to end and you’re giving me hope. It is so brave of you to help the world in this crisis.”

•      A card from Hannah read, “We are lucky to have people like you who make this world a better place.”

•      A group letter sent to “our Spanish-speaking health care heroes” said, “Muchas gracias por todo el esfuerzo cuidando a los enfermos durante este tiempo difícil.”

•      “Vous êtes de vrais héros parce que vous prenez tellement de risques et vous etes si courageux,” wrote a student who is learning French.
