Please consider attending this important, free event at the Yonkers Riverfront Library on Saturday, May 9th at 1pm. It involves Spelling/Typing to Communicate. The goal is to bring information to the Yonkers autism community.
Another goal is to bring attention to the Communications Bill of Rights. (2025-2026), known as the Communication Bill of Rights, protects the rights of individuals with disabilities to use their preferred communication methods. It mandates that state agencies and providers support tools like AAC devices, spelling boards, and sign language, ensuring non-verbal individuals can communicate.
Join us for a powerful and eye-opening afternoon at a free screening of Spellers, a documentary that challenges long-held assumptions about nonspeaking autistic individuals and their ability to communicate. Hosted by Mouth to Hand Learning Center, this special event will be followed by a live Q&A featuring a panel of nonspeaking individuals who will share their lived experiences. Come learn, connect, and be part of an important conversation about communication, inclusion, and breaking barriers.
Seats are limited / please register by scanning the code in the flyer.
