DCCC mobile billboard calls out Lawler for taking food off the plates of New Yorkers
Today, the DCCC is launching a new mobile billboard campaign holding Mike Lawler accountable for his cruel cuts to food aid after local food pantry leaders desperately pleaded with him to save SNAP. Lawler’s cuts have led to 180,000 New Yorkers losing critical nutrition assistance as rising grocery costs continue to be a driving source of the affordability challenges facing everyday Americans.
Lawler proudly voted for the Big, Ugly Bill, which included a cut of $187 billion to nutrition assistance.
This billboard campaign comes ahead of the anniversary of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) on August 31.

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“New Yorkers are struggling to keep up with sky-high grocery costs because of Mike Lawler’s broken promises, and the DCCC is holding him accountable for his betrayal. Instead of helping folks back home feed their families, Lawler decided to make massive cuts to nutrition assistance, taking food off the table of millions of hardworking families – just so they could pay for tax breaks for his billionaire backers.”
