County Legislator Colin Smith visited First Baptist Church of Peekskill on December 1 to welcome Pastor Michael Davis.

The proclamation reads, “Throughout its history, Westchester County has been fortunate to have exceptional individuals and organizations which give of their time and talent for the betterment of the community and“We are gathered today, Sunday, December 1, to honor and celebrate Pastor Michael Davis on behalf of First Baptist Church of Peekskill and

“Whereas Pastor Michael Davis brings 15 years of ministry experience to First Baptist Church of Peekskill. Growing up in Texas, Pastor Davis committed his life to Christ at a young age. He has faced and overcame great adversity, including surviving a church shooting in 1999. These challenges gave him a heart for counseling and caring for people in times of crisis and

“Whereas Pastor Michael Davis is passionate about leading people to faith in Jesus. He has helped grow youth groups of 15 to over 150 students through programs focused on outreach and discipleship. He is gifted at creating vision, preaching God’s word, long-range planning and leading strategic initiatives, and  
“Whereas Pastor Michael Davis recently completed his doctoral work in Pastoral Counseling and looks forward to planting roots and committing long-term to ministering in Peekskill alongside his wife Christie and their three daughters.

The Board of Legislators proclaims December 2, 2024, as “Pastor Michael Davis Day” in Westchester County.
