Council President Candidate Peter Spano: I’m Giving the People of Yonkers a Choice

Peter Spano

Press release and statement from the campaign of Peter Spano, demomcratic candidae for Yonkers City Council President.

“Peter Spano is running for City Council President of Yonkers. The opportunity to lead the Yonkers City Council arrives every 4 years. Peter provides hope for the city, the people and our community. He has already given Yonkers so much and now he gives the voters of Yonkers something else- a choice in this year’s City Council President’s election. A choice between the old way and hope for new leadership. The old way wasn’t working and it’s on us to make a change. Gone are the days of elections being an ultimatum. It is replaced by robust challenges up and down the ballot. It’s replaced by passionate people who are willing to put themselves out in the public for praise and scrutiny. It has replaced complacent voting with voters actually having options. It’s replaced by opportunity and hope.

“Peter Spano’s community involvement is selfless and proven. Long before he chose to run, you can see Peter and his friends giving back to the city he loves so much. Volunteering is a passion for him and through his participation with nonprofit organizations including Feeding Westchester, Knights of Columbus, Rotary, Kiwanis, Yonkers Community Action Program, Volunteers of America, Yonkers Family YMCA, Police Athletic League of Yonkers, Yonkers C.E.R.T. and the Office of Emergency Management he has given to Yonkers.

“I am so excited to participate in this year’s election process.” Says Peter. “I understand the process for running for political office which means I fully understand what the people want from the empty promises of what they get from elected officials. This year feels different, it feels like it’s my year to show the city what I have to offer.”
