City Council President Khader Organizes Food Distribution Drive with Feeding Westchester

City Council Presidentr Mike Khader at a recent Food Distribution event in Yonkers

Yonkers City Council President Mike Khader, in partnership with Feeding Westchester, organized a food distribution event to help those families who have been struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the help of nearly 300 community partners and programs, Feeding Westchester has been providing food and other much needed resources to those who are in need in Westchester County for more than 30 years. In the past year, the organization has launched an additional 40 emergency programs throughout the county to help meet the increased need for food due to the pandemic.

“I would like to thank Feeding Westchester for supporting Yonkers residents and for providing much relief for those families struggling to provide for their families” said City Council President Khader. “These two food distributions were successful because of Feeding Westchester and because of the strong community that exists in the City of Yonkers. I look forward to working with Feeding Westchester and other community organizations to support the City of Yonkers and its residents”

“We have been partnering with pantries, schools, soup kitchens, and other feeding programs in Yonkers to support our seniors, children, and families struggling with hunger for more than 30 years, and we will continue to do so,” said Karen C. Erren, President and CEO of Feeding Westchester. “We are so grateful to our community partners and local government for their support in our mission to provide food to our Westchester neighbors in need, especially during this prolonged hard time that impacts so many.”
