City Council Candidate Stella Schwuchow Gets Working Families Party Endorsement

Stella Schwuchow

On Wednesday, March 3rd, first-time candidate and emerging Democratic leader running for Yonkers City Council District 6, Stella Schwuchow, was endorsed by the Working Families Party. The Working Families Party fights for social justice and a New York that works for the many, not the few. It is multi-racial party that fights for workers over bosses and people over the powerful.

“I am thrilled to receive the endorsement of the Working Families Party” stated Stella. “I come from a multi-racial household. My dad is second generation German and Polish American, and my mom is an immigrant who came over from Trinidad and Tobago over 40 years ago. “Nothing came easy for us, we worked for everything in our life. I am happy to be supported by a party where our principles and values are aligned with one another.”

The Working Families Party represents regular people coming together across differences to make a better future for everyone. “Many people in my district are working class families,” stated Stella. “They deserve a representative who understands exactly what they’re going through. They deserve someone who doesn’t have commitments to political insiders. I want my district to know that I see them, I hear them and we’re in this together.”

The Democratic primary elections are Tuesday, June 22nd.
