City Council Approves Reappointment of Liam McLaughlin as Yonkers Inspector General

The Yonkers City Council unanimously approved the reappointment of Liam McLaughlin as Yonkers Inspector General. McLaughlin, who served on the Yonkers City Council and as City Council President was reappointed to a term ending in 2029 after being renominated by Mayor Mike Spano to continue his service.

“I’m happy to support this reappointment of the Inspector General said Councilman John Rubbo. Liam is a lifelong resident of the city and has been a dedicated public servant for many years. He takes the role of IG very seriously.”

Council Minority Leader Mike Breen said, “The council has received good, frank advice from him. He continues to help the city.”

Council Majority Leader Tasha Diaz said, “I think he (McLaughlin) is doing an awesome job. We can also call on him.”

Councilwoman Corazon Pineda-Isaac said, “I have reached out to him on constituent concerns, and he has answered professionally and promptly.”

Council President Lakisha Collins-Bellamy said, “He has been an excellent IG. He takes his role seriously and issues opinions that are always fair and just.”
