Two distinguished Yonkers community figures will be honored this Saturday as Blue Door Art Center gathers supporters for an afternoon of art, music and community at historic Greystone Court.
Blue Door will present its Visionary Award to Richard Nightingale, President and CEO of Westhab, recognizing his leadership and longstanding commitment to strengthening communities. The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Golda Solomon, Yonkers’ first Poet Laureate and Poet in Residence at Blue Door Art Center, celebrating a lifetime devoted to poetry, the arts and the cultural life of the city.
The fundraiser takes place Saturday, October 3, from 2–5 p.m. at Greystone Court and supports Blue Door Art Center’s exhibitions, workshops and accessible arts programming throughout the community.
Those unable to attend can still play an important role. Tickets and contributions directly support Blue Door Art Center and help sustain its work with artists, families and the wider Yonkers community.
