But What are Her Future Plans?

Westchester State Senator and Congressional candidate Allesandra Biaggi is “moving on up” to Bedford from Pelham, according to recent reports about the purchase of a home with her husband Nathaniel Koloc.

Public records show that the couple bought a 4-acre property in Bedford for $1,137,500. The home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and an inground pool.

Biaggi is challenging Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney in the redrawn 17th district, which includes Rockland County, Northern Westchester, and Putnam County.

She was living in Pelham, the community that she currently represents in the State Senate. Biaggi has also changed her voter registration to her new Bedford address. Her Pelham condo has not yet been sold, but she now lives and is registered to vote in the 17th Congressional district, and the democratic primary on Aug. 23.

A Biaggi spokesman was critical of Maloney when the issue of residency came up before she bought the Bedford home. “Sean Patrick Maloney moved 10 years ago just so he could run in the district. Alessandra Biaggi has lived her whole life in Westchester,” said the Biaggi campaign.

Assemblyman Mike Lawler, who is running in a GOP primary in NY-17, weclomed Biggi to the district. “By actually living here, they can now feel what it’s like to live in one of the most heavily taxed areas of America,” said Lawler.

But Biaggi’s Pelham address may have had as high a property tax rate as her Bedford home.

The other critique of Biaggi’s new home are based on the fact that as a progressive democrat, Biaggi now lives in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Westchester, and the nation. “It’s a little ironic given her progressive credentials that she would choose to buy a home on four acres,” Suzanne Berger, chair of the Westchester County Democratic Committee, told The NY Post.

The couple purchased the home from one of her campaign donors, real estate broker Maurice Owen-Michaane.
