Conway has said that she will not work for former President Donald Trump if he runs for President in 2024. Cuomo has not ruled out a return to elected office, but has some obstacles to overcome to do so.
Most NY Democrats do not want Cuomo to run for anything on the democratic party line. And Governor Kathy Hochul just won reelection, and will occupy Cuomo’s former office for the next four years.
What other office could Cuomo be running for? Conway works on Presidential campaigns, but its hard to see an A. Cuomo for Presidential campaign materialilzing anytime soon.
One guess could be that Cuomo was picking Conway’s brain on how a third party, independent run for office would look like, and if it is possible to win.
Lindsey Boylan, one of Cuomo’s 11 accusers of sexual harassment that forced him to resign, Tweeted,
Andrew Cuomo & Donald Trump are the same person. They are both completely values free, both abuse power constantly, and both cannot get enough attention to satiate themselves.
The other piece to this puzzle is that the NYC press were alerted that this political odd couple were dining together on a Wednesday night at 10pm. Both the NY Post and Daily News ran stories on the dinner and had photos of both leaving.
Whatever the reason for the dinner, it accomplished the goal of getting into the public eye.
