ALBANIAN HERITAGE DAY RETURNS TO KENSICO DAM PLAZA ON JUNE 1

Albanian Heritage Day will take place on Sunday, June 1, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla.

This festival will feature Albanian cuisine, beverages, dancing and a variety of sports. The event will also include live performances by Ermina Bushi, Indrit Mlita, the folkdance group Rozafati and children from the Mother Tereza Center. DJ Geni will play lively traditional music from all regions of Albania.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “Immersing yourself in Westchester’s rich cultural diversity cultivates broader perspectives and a deeper appreciation for the varied lifestyles and viewpoints of its residents. Cultural festivals serve as powerful conduits for empathy and compassion, illuminating the universal human experiences that transcend cultural boundaries.”

Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Kathy O’Connor said: “Experiencing other backgrounds expands our perspectives of the varied ways our County’s populations live and think. Kensico Dam Plaza is a beautiful venue for all the wonderful perspectives this event offers.”

Please be advised that the Bronx River Parkway will be closed for Bicycle Sundays between Scarsdale Road in Yonkers and the Westchester County Center in White Plains in June and July from 8 a.m. to noon. Kensico Dam Plaza can be accessed via Route 22, from the north or south.
