Outdoor Astro Show: Rainbows, Exoplanets, and Aliens!

Most things in space are so far away that visiting them in person isn’t currently possible, but the light they give off can tell us (almost) everything we need to know. We can uncover exoplanets, find out what things are made of, and, just maybe… find aliens!

Join us in the Museum Courtyard as we demonstrate how light is used to investigate these questions. We’ll connect rainbows and barcodes, noisemakers, and neutron stars. Can you identify the mystery materials?

The Sky Tonight: Live-Streamed Planetarium Show, Thursday’s at 7pm

We may not be able to sit together under the Planetarium dome, but we invite you to join our science educators from the comfort of your home for this live-streamed “The Sky Tonight” show via Zoom.

Through an online planetarium simulator, learn about the skies of November, including the reappearance of the spectacular constellation Orion, the planets currently gracing our evening skies, and other sights big and small. We’ll also cover the latest space news and exciting discoveries.
Just like programs in the Planetarium, we’ll be able to take questions—this time through chat and comments. Recommended for general audiences, ages 8+.
