“Mission Possible:” Toys for Tots Launches in Westchester and Putnam Counties

Community organizations and volunteers join kickoff; local partners invited to host toy collection boxes, volunteer, or organize events

The Westchester and Putnam Counties Toys for Tots campaign launched Mission Possible with a community kickoff on October 27, 2026, hosted by Westy Self Storage in Elmsford. ShopRite of Elmsford provided the food. A number of organizations and volunteers joined the effort to bring hope and holiday joy to local children in need.

Partners connected with the volunteer team and took toy collection boxes and posters to begin their toy drives. Volunteers met the partners, received their IDs, and picked up boxes to distribute to community partners across Westchester and Putnam Counties. These connections laid the foundation for a season of service, turning community generosity into hope for children and families.

Since 1947, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program has collected new, unwrapped toys for children in need. Local campaigns like the Westchester and Putnam Counties effort bring that mission to life through the generosity of community partners, sponsors, and volunteers.

Join the Mission: Three Ways to Help

Businesses, community organizations, and residents are invited to help make the holiday season brighter for children throughout Westchester and Putnam Counties:

  • Become a drop site: Host a toy collection box at your business or organization and invite customers, employees, and community members to donate new, unwrapped toys.
  • Become a volunteer: Give your time to support the local Toys for Tots campaign and help bring holiday joy to children and families.
  • Host an event: Organize a toy collection event and bring your community together in support of local children.

Every collection box hosted, every toy donated, and every hour volunteered helps turn community generosity into reassurance for a parent and joy for a child. Together, Westchester and Putnam Counties can make Mission Possible a season of hope.

Because every child deserves a little Christmas!
