In a competitive State Assembly race, Frank Jereis is relying on an old-school campaign strategy: taking his message directly to voters through door knocking.
From knocking on doors in every neighborhood to visiting union halls, train stations, and community events, Jereis has spent the campaign meeting Yonkers residents face-to-face.
Despite receiving significant backing from powerful labor unions and elected officials, Jereis has made it a point from nearly 10 months now since the campaign began for the Democratic Primary to door knock extensively. Frank Jereis even shared that he is on his 4th pair of shoes since the campaign began and he has personally knocked on over 5000 doors.
The district remains a political battleground, where Governor Kathy Hochul performed weakly in 2022, making personal outreach critical. If history is any indication, this Assembly district will likely be the only one that is competitive in Westchester.
Jereis has embraced a campaign built on handshakes and conversations at resident’s doorsteps. At 25, Jereis is seeking a history-making victory, betting that an old-school, grassroots campaign can deliver a new generation of leadership to Albany for Yonkers.
Frank Jereis faces John Isaac where early voting has already begun and will continue until Sunday. Election Day is November 3rd.
