Mamaroneck Police Arrest Suspect Following Commercial Burglary and Two Attempted Break-Ins

Picone’s Sausage was one of the businesses targeted

The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department investigated one commercial burglary and two attempted burglaries
reported over the weekend of October 3–4, 2026.

On Saturday evening, October 3, officers responded to an alarm activation at Picone’s Sausage and Wholesale Meats,
located at 180 Jefferson Avenue Extension. Officers discovered damaged glass at the business entrance.

A witness reported observing a person strike the glass before fleeing when the alarm sounded. The suspect did not gain entry.
Later that evening, officers responded to Los Primos, located at 665 Old White Plains Road, following a report of an
attempted burglary.

Witness accounts and surveillance footage showed a person attempting to break the front glass door with a brick before leaving the area. No entry was made, and nothing was reported stolen.

On Sunday morning, October 4, officers responded to Mamaroneck Body Works, located at 744 Old White Plains Road, after employees discovered damage to the business entrance. Detectives determined that a suspect had broken the glass door and entered the business the previous evening.

Patrol officers and detectives conducted witness interviews, reviewed surveillance footage, collected physical evidence, and canvassed the surrounding area. Their investigative efforts led to the identification of a suspect.

On Monday morning, October 5, detectives from the Investigations Division located and arrested the suspect, who was identified as Mr. David Vogt; he was charged with Burglary in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony, along with two counts of Attempted Burglary in the Third Degree, Class E Felonies. He was processed and is currently being held pending his arraignment.

The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department thanks the witnesses and business owners whose cooperation assisted with these investigations.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
