We spend plenty of time talking about the far-left radicals in Putnam County. We all know who they are. But if we’re going to call out extremism, poor judgment, and questionable behavior on the left, then we better be willing to hold people on the right to the exact same standard.
I have some serious questions for the Putnam County Conservative leadership about this endorsement.
A County Executive is responsible for helping oversee the finances, budgeting, planning, and operations of an entire county. Yet there are public court records that, according to my review, show eviction proceedings in Dutchess County as well as debt-collection lawsuits involving Tanya. So I genuinely ask the board: What due diligence did you do before making this endorsement? And how do you reconcile those financial issues with entrusting someone to oversee the finances of an entire county?
Then there is the Carmel holiday parade.
I would also like to ask the board what they think about the allegations surrounding Tanya’s presence among the bystanders who booed while the SEPTO group—children and their parents—walked in the parade. I know the response will probably be, “I wasn’t there.” But multiple people say they witnessed what happened. If there is video or other documentation, the Conservative leadership should review it themselves before dismissing the concern.
And let’s not forget the Carmel school board meeting where she was removed. I actually agreed with some of the points she was making that night. But agreeing politically with someone doesn’t mean giving them a pass for their behavior. Any respect I had for the message disappeared when I watched the confrontation with law enforcement as she was being removed.
This isn’t about Republican versus Democrat. It’s about standards.
If conservatives are going to demand fiscal responsibility, accountability, professionalism, respect for law enforcement, and responsible leadership from everyone else, then those standards need to apply to the candidates we endorse too.
I strongly suggest that the Putnam County Conservative leadership look into the court records, videos, and other documentation for themselves before putting their name and credibility behind anyone.
Don’t take my word for it. Do your own homework. Look at the records. Look at the evidence. Ask questions.
An endorsement shouldn’t be handed out simply because someone has the right letter next to their name or says the right things politically.
Putnam County deserves someone capable of representing and managing the entire county, not just the loudest faction of it.
So, Putnam County Conservatives, I’m genuinely asking:
What exactly did you look into before making this endorsement?
Are you purposely throwing away your pro-ported stances and morals, worse The People, under the bus for this?
