Roots Run Deep in the Town of Mount Pleasant — So Does Our Commitment to Keeping It Safe
A lot of things matter to Valhalla families, but two are real concerns for our safety: the water that pools in the Cypress area every time a real storm rolls through, and whether the folks who answer our 911 calls have equipment that actually works. Congressman Mike Lawler helped with both.
He delivered $815,000 to upgrade Mount Pleasant’s public safety communications, so our police and firefighters can reach each other, and reach us, when seconds count. He also secured $900,000 for a stormwater system in the Cypress area to move water out before it floods homes and roads.
This town is more than where I live — it’s where I raised my family, where my kids grew up, and now where I get to watch my own grandkids grow up, too. That’s not something I take for granted.
I’ve put down roots here that run deep, I’ve been a volunteer firefighter for over four decades, and I’ve seen firsthand what flooding and dated equipment do to a community and the people who serve it.
It’s important we make sure this community remains a place worth putting down roots in for the ones who come after us.
That’s why I’m grateful to Congressman Mike Lawler for treating Mount Pleasant’s safety like it matters, because to those of us invested here, it does.
