
A 90-minute walking tour exploring crime, punishment, labor, and the Hudson River region, now offered Saturday through Monday each month In response to growing visitor demand Sing Sing Prison Museum (SSPM) has added Monday dates to Sink or Sing: A Walking Tour about Crime, Punishment, Labor, and the Hudson River Region. The 90-minute tour leads participants along the Hudson River and into an exclusive area of the Sing Sing Correctional Facility, exploring the prison’s past and present and the ideas that shaped U.S. carceral philosophy, before closing with a reflective art-making project. Next Tour Dates: July 25, 26, and 27 TICKETS ![]() “Sink or Sing has become one of our most requested experiences, and the new Monday tours let us meet that demand without turning visitors away,” said Amy Hufnagel, SSPM’s assistant director. “It’s one of the best ways to experience Sing Sing’s history in person, guided by people who’ve lived it.”Visitors describe the experience as immersive and eye-opening. “Fascinating tour — I learned so much about the history of the prison and incarceration in America, and got a view of the prison I wouldn’t have been able to get outside this tour,” said one recent visitor. Another called it “interesting and enlightening,” adding: “In addition to being led by a knowledgeable guide, we had formerly incarcerated individuals giving us insight into prison life … encouraging non-judgmental discussions about prison policies and injustices, many that we were simply unaware of.”The tour traces the history of the Hudson River region, from Indigenous culture to the Hudson River School of Art to the bustling port community and the walls of the Sing Sing Correctional Facility.
