Mahwah High School senior Taylor Tremblay entered an elite tier of school history this spring, officially earning her 12th varsity letter. By competing on a varsity athletic team during every single consecutive season of her four-year high school career, Tremblay achieved a milestone that fewer than 20 student-athletes have reached in the history of Mahwah High School.
Tremblay balanced a demanding year-round schedule, playing soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, and lacrosse in the spring. She served as a team captain for each sport during her senior year, demonstrating exceptional leadership across all three programs.
“This accomplishment is so rare because of the dedication, commitment, and relentlessness required each and every day throughout the year including school vacations and holidays,” said Mahwah High School Director of Athletics Roger Pelletier. “It requires a mental and physical toughness that is astounding. The ability to stay healthy and perform at the level that Taylor did in three very different sports is a testament to all the qualities mentioned.”
In addition to her endurance, Tremblay consistently performed at an elite level, earning numerous individual accolades throughout her high school career.
In soccer, Tremblay earned Second Team All-League honors in the Big North Conference during both her junior and senior seasons, following an Honorable Mention nod as a sophomore.
As a basketball standout, she was selected as a First Team All-League player in the Big North Conference for three consecutive years from her sophomore through senior seasons. She also earned Honorable Mention All-County recognition in Bergen County during each of those three seasons, building on an Honorable Mention All-League selection during her freshman year.
In lacrosse, she capped off her career with a First Team All-League selection in the New Jersey Interscholastic Girls Lacrosse League (NJIGLL) and a Second Team All-County selection in Bergen County during her senior year. This followed Second Team All-League honors as a sophomore and junior, and a Third Team All-County honor as a sophomore.
Beyond the stat sheets, Tremblay proved to be a clutch performer when the stakes were highest. Her signature athletic moment occurred during the 2026 basketball state tournament. In a high-profile state quarterfinal matchup against Pascack Valley, Tremblay took a pass in the left corner of the court and buried a jump shot with less than 1 second remaining on the clock to secure a dramatic one-point victory.
“Taylor is a tough and tenacious competitor who is harder on herself than her teammates,” Pelletier said. “She holds herself to a standard that sets an example for all others in the program. It has been a pleasure and privilege to watch her grow up and develop on our fields and court.”
Tremblay’s excellence extended well beyond athletics. Academically, she earned the district’s Minds in Motion Award during five of her 12 seasons, a distinction reserved for student-athletes who maintain High Honor Roll status while actively participating in a varsity sport. Following her graduation, Tremblay plans to attend the University of Connecticut and focus on her academic studies.
The entire Mahwah Township Public Schools district and high school community celebrate Tremblay for this historic achievement and her outstanding contributions both in the classroom and across Thunderbird athletics.
