Feeding Westchester Announces  Kristine Borok as New President & CEO

Kristine Borok

Feeding Westchester, the leading hunger-relief organization serving Westchester County, announced today the appointment of Kristine Borok as its next President and Chief Executive Officer. Borok will assume the role in March, bringing over 20 years of experience leading mission-driven organizations through periods of growth, transformation, and increased community impact. Borok is a highly respected nonprofit executive and Westchester resident with a deep commitment to food access, equity, and community-centered solutions. She currently serves as Chief Strategy & Advancement Officer at Hot Bread Kitchen in New York City, where she helped guide the organization through a period of exponential growth that featured tripling revenue, strengthening operational infrastructure, and securing transformative, multi-year institutional partnerships.

“Kristine brings an exceptional combination of vision, discipline, and leadership,” said Vinay Rao, Feeding Westchester Board Chair. “Her proven ability to build values-driven teams, grow funding, and elevate visibility positions her to lead Feeding Westchester into its next chapter.”

As President and CEO, Borok will oversee Feeding Westchester’s $42 million operation and lead a team of 75 staff members, advancing the organization’s mission to ensure that all neighbors across Westchester County have access to nutritious food. Feeding Westchester serves an average of 235,000 neighbor visits every month, including children, single parents, veterans, working families, and seniors across the county.

Throughout her career, Borok has held senior leadership roles at organizations including the American Museum of Natural History and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, where she managed operations, multimillion-dollar budgets, and fundraising portfolios. Earlier in her career, she worked as a culinary professional and educator at Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Mercer Kitchen, the Landmarc Restaurant Group, and Levain Bakery, gaining experience that informs her deep understanding of food systems and workforce development.

“I am honored to step into this role at Feeding Westchester,” said Borok. “As a Westchester resident, I have seen both the depth of need in our community and the extraordinary impact of this organization.  I am inspired by Feeding Westchester’s commitment to dignity, collaboration, and innovation, and I look forward to working alongside the Board, staff, partners, neighbors, and government leaders to advance food security and build a stronger community for all.”

The appointment comes at a pivotal time, as nearly 40% of Westchester households are at risk of hunger and families continue to face rising inflation and reductions in government funding, including SNAP benefits and medical coverage. In this challenging environment, Feeding Westchester’s influence and impact are more critical than ever. The organization remains committed to serving neighbors in need and working alongside partners to build a Westchester without hunger.

Feeding Westchester is located at 200 Clearbrook Road, Elmsford, NY 10523. For more information, visit feedingwestchester.org.
