A GoFundMe account has been created to raise money for the families who lost their homes in Mt. Vernon during a fire at 30 Cottage Avenue.
The account was created by Rob Rubicco. The GoFundMe page -https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-families-displaced-by-mount-vernon-fire, reads:
We are Anna & Jack’s Treehouse, a local daycare and several of our employees / their families have been displaced by a fire at an apt building located @ 30 Cottage Ave in Mount Vernon.
We are raising funds only for our people & their families, but everyone who has been displaced by this fire. Including, but not limited to hotel accommodations, toiletries & clothes
The Treehouse will match all funds donated and we will work with mount vernon and building ownership to ensure the funds raised / supplies purchased are dispersed amongst all folks impacted.
We did this for the recent Hurricane in Jamaica and were able to raise over $23k and hope we can make the same, if not greater impact this time. 124 families were impacted and we are dispersing the funds equally via paper check
Thank you, Rob & Christina
Editor’s Note: To date, $34,055 has been raised. Please help these families if you can during the holiday season.
