I asked myself several times during the course of last year
‘Is there a God? When my sister would get deathly ill because she did not take prescribed medication exactly on time.When I would have terrible pain in my back and legs, particularly on rainy cloudy days and feel like I was losing strength in my leg.
Then I would look down the hall, in a hospital, rehabilitation center, doctor’s office or other Similar facility and see many people were b in.much worse condition then we were. It kind of put everything in perspective. We would survive.
And so we enter another JEWISH New Year, 5768 with caution. I get a phone call from a good friend at the start of the week telling me that a mutual good friend had passed away. A gentleman I have known for over 50 years as a teacher, scholar,person active in the-b :8 kicommunity, political and civic.
So as as enter the Jewish new year, let’s us hope for peace in the world, good health for you and your family and good health for my sister and her baby brother. God, please help.
