Middle of summer? Can you believe August 1 is next week! Though many folks are on holiday, plenty of people are in town absorbing what is going on. Perfect time to give you my take on what’s happening on hot topics next door and in our part of the world.
The report on financier and child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein should have been released by now. What was Donald Trump’s involvement with Epstein. Were Hillary and Bill Clinton in his circle of friends? the American people need to know if all is Kosher in Epstein land!
Sad to see the Late Show, a franchise popularized by David Letterman leave the air next May. Was it political pressure from Donald Trump and Company or a true economic decision? This is the beginning of a shakeup of late night television, though Colbert is so good I am sure he will land on his feet.
Andrew Cuomo is a bright politician but he is not the only person who can lead New York City. His deal making to get the Mayoral nomination is classic Cuomo. It’s time for a change as the population of New York City changes, but don’t count out Curtis Sliwa. He’s a guy who knows and can solve the problems of our neighbor to the south!
One person unhappy with the sad goings on at Playland is the wife of former County Executive and now Congressman George Latimer. I was at a press opening at Playland several years ago and learned how fond Robin Latimer, wife of the Congressman is of the Dragon Coaster. She was first on line, happy as a kid with a new pair of shoes. Sad that our leaders could not find someone to take over this gem!
We just ended school several weeks ago in most of Westchester and back to school sales are going strong. And before you know it it will begin to look a lot like Christmas and Chanukah!
Tasted the most delicious high protein, low sugar ice cream this week. Very impressed with Protein Pints. On the other hand have you tried to find salt free potato chips or pretzels. Non existent even at Whole Foods!
We say goodbye to Heavy Metal king Ozzy Osbourne he of Black Sabbath fame. Malcolm Jamal Warner holds a special place in hearts of those of a certain age who adored him in the Cosby Show. Terrible how he died so young.
Just a reminder at this time of year when we are all in the waterb to be careful when you’re swimming and don’t swim in water that is above your ability!
