Dear Mr. Murphy,
I recently read your June 20th article regarding No Kings Rally and wish to comment on your article.
I feel that there is never a competing discussion on the ideas that your paper puts forth. You cite that perhaps 2% of the population participated in these protests.
However, you never cite that President Trump received an overwhelming victory for his presidential election. The overwhelming electoral college victory gave President Trump the people’s mandate to stop the invasion of our country.
You cite abortion rights, immigration rights and the Gaza war as the primary reasons for these protests.
Immigrants don’t have the right to enter our country illegally. Millions were allowed to enter illegally under the Biden Administration. Also, nowhere in the Constitution is there mention of a “right” to an abortion. What about the unborn child and his/her right to life – that is mentioned in the Constitution.
President Trump is no king, but rather the duly elected President of the United States. The American people voted and he is currently following the mandate which the American people endorsed.
Kurt Goldsmith, the 102 year old survivor of the Holocaust, is being “used” as an example of opposition to President Trump’s agenda. I assume that he was put in a concentration camp because of his Jewish heritage.
What are Mr. Goldsmith’s thoughts about the anti-semitism on college campuses? Is it okay that Jewish students are being harassed by Pro-Hamas groups? President Trump is attempting to hold elite colleges responsible for not protecting Jewish students from being intimidated and allowed to peacefully pursue their studies.
No the flag doesn’t belong to President Trump. It belongs to us. And the American people spoke in November of 2024 and elected him President.
Elections have consequences and groups that oppose him should not be trying to usurp the will of the people.
Sincerely,
Jerilyn Ferrante
