The Westchester Black Women’s Political Caucus-Yonkers Chapter recently thanked all those who made its second annual summer soirée an enjoyable and successful affair. This year’s event was held Aug. 5 at the minority-owned Forty North Caribbean Kitchen & Bar, located at 100 River St., Hasting-on-Hudson.

Vice President Effie Phillips’s creative planning and energy contributed to the ambiance and entertainment enjoyed by all.

In addition to the food and music, guests were treated to an African dance performance from Youth Theater Interaction, which was the highlight of the day. After the dance, the drummer demonstrated the moves to the dance and invited group participation.

In attendance were many elected officials, including County Executive George Latimer, State Sen. Shelly Mayer, Assemblyman Nader Sayegh, County Legislator Christopher Johnson, and City Councilwoman Shanae Williams, to name a few.

The Yonkers chapter is already looking forward to its next fundraiser. Visit wbwpc.org for more information.
